Creighton's drinking water is no longer in violation of state nitrate level qualifications.
City officials received notice from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Resourses Monday afternoon, August 29, that the water supply meets safe levels of nitrates (less than 10 miligrams per liter), according to City Administrator Lindsay Nelson.
The state.had issued a violation after a mechanical failure at the city's reverse osmosis treatment plant Aug. 2 caused the water supply to bypass the
treatment plant while repairs were made.
